What an absolutely fantastic way to start off 2021! For those who don't know, over the weekend 600 students gathered from over 19 different countries to participate in the McMaster Design League: CAD Designathon. We also decided this was a perfect opportunity for us to sponsor our first engineering event!
However, the Drunk Engineers were not just a sponsor for this event, we were a stimuli the students could design their product around and we set a challenge. The winning team as a prize would come join our team and we would help them bring their drinking product to fruition. This was our criteria.
"With COVID-19 significantly affecting where, when, and most importantly how people consume their favourite beverages, there is a significant opportunity to develop a new and exciting way for people to drink. In this design challenge we are looking for a unique design that can be implemented in either the Restaurant/Bar, Night Club, or House Party sectors of the Drinking Industry."
We had over 100 different submissions, all were innovative and imaginative, an absolutely fantastic effort from everyone involved. However, there could only be one winner, if you'd like to learn more about the winning design we've picked to be a future Drunk Engineers product, we're going to be documenting the whole journey via our social media very soon.
